I have seen alot of doctors and this is the best I have had since my journey began. Ty 😊
I was drawing weary of not being able to find a good therapist and psychiatrist that would understand my struggles. As a veteran newly out of the service I didn’t know what to do. I got sent to compassionate Psychiatric’s and my psychiatrist Sherita treated me with respect and made me feel like she could relate to me as a black woman. I feel safe and excited every time going to see her because I know I’m going to be guided with positivity and honesty. I cried knowing I felt like I have a sense of belonging. My therapist Tracy! Is amazing and great active listening skills. Even though we just started together I’m so happy she isn’t afraid to assign me homework after really listening to me to understand instead of judging me. She pushes me to get better as Iv asked her to do. I am so grateful for these two women!! I can’t thank these two for there help on my journey and the empowerment.
Dr Mesterheide really listens and let's you talk.
I have been working with Salwa, my prescription medication psychologist, for the past 2 years or so. I have also met Dr. Mohammed, the over arching psychiatrist who owns and/or runs the practice. Salwa and Dr Mohammed's team do an absolutely outstanding job of managing my issues. Due to some serious back pain 3 years ago, I became dependent on Oxycodone. This medication is excellent for pain relief, but the downside is the ability (or INABILITY) for individuals to taper off the drug, and then they may suffer thru mild to moderate to sometimes serious withdrawal symptoms for weeks (many many many months in my case). My withdrawal symptoms were moderate - tapering to mild and then none. The Team at Compassionate Psychiatry (especially Salwa) provided the necessary support so that my transition from drug dependency to the use of MUCH less dangerous (dependent) drugs went exceedingly smooth. The Compassionate in their name is more than a slogan. It provides the perfect description of this medical practice; I highly recommend Compassionate Psychiatric Services.
No place is going to be perfect for everyone. At the foremost it is a business and sometimes business practices do not always coinside with one's wallet. Missing an appointment or canceleing too late you can be charged. This may be upsetting to some people if not most but being a veteran the VA always tells people that if you miss an appointment or cancel an appointment last minute you're keeping other people from getting treatment that could have used that time slot. They would much rather meet with you but it is a business and this is one means to limit missed appointments. I have had a really good experience with my provider.
Cant say enough good things. All of our appointments have been virtual which has been very convenient for my teen. Dr. Sherita Bardley has been the best thing for her since we left another place. My teen feels super comfortable talking to Dr. Bardley and she does not open up like that to many others. Been using this place a few months and would definitely recommend. Always had a really good interaction with the office staff as well 🙂
Very nice. Really listened to my issues and concerns and understood and offered solutions.
